Isabel "Didi" Cutler has spent many years living and traveling in the Middle East. Her photographic portraits and landscapes are in embassies, museums, and offices throughout the world, as well as in many private collections including the White House in Washington, D.C. Her portraits include prominent statesmen, artists and authors, and a broad range of other individuals ranging from royal families in their palaces to neighborhood children in intimate family surroundings.


Cutler has been commissioned by the governments of Kuwait, Qatar, Spain, and Syria to photograph their countries. She was invited by the Government of Pakistan to hold exhibitions of her photographs in Lahore and Islamabad. In October 2010 she was invited by the government of Syria to photograph the 9th Anniversary of the Celebration of the Silk Road. Cutler is currently presenting illustrated lectures on the many facets of Syria, then and now. Venues for her exhibitions in the United States have included The Aspen Institute, The National Press club, The Organization of American States, The Meridian International Center, The President George H.W. Bush Memorial Library, The Four Seasons Hotel, and the embassies of Spain, Qatar, Kuwait, Colombia, and Tunisia in Washington, D.C.

Cutler also focuses on abstractions of nature. She exhibited these new photographic collages of nature at the Embassy of Colombia in Washington DC.

Cutler's book, Mysteries of the Desert, was published by Rizzoli in 2001.
She was the photographer for Dirai'iya, Ruins of the Al Saud Family, Wilberding Publishers.
